MORGANTOWN — Forge, a strategic planning and consulting firm in Morgantown, is pleased to announce it recently hired Beth Ryan as its new Director of Communications.
Ryan has more than 20 years’ experience in media and communications. She worked as the director of communications for the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office from 2013-2015, and prior to that spent 10 years working as a reporter, managing editor and editor for The State Journal, a business and government weekly based in Charleston. She also worked as a reporter for The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, as well as for newspapers in Wisconsin and Ohio.
Prior to joining Forge, Ryan worked part-time as a freelance writer/researcher, social media coordinator, and communications advisor for a variety of organizations.
“We are pleased to have someone with Beth’s experience and expertise joining the Forge team,” said Forge President and CEO Frank Vitale. “Her experience working in and with media outlets throughout West Virginia, as well as her experience working with state government and non-profits will help Forge and its clients better tell their stories to West Virginia and the world.”
Ryan will be responsible for helping Forge and its clients communicate new projects, products, and developments; promote events; and work with the media.
“I am excited to join the Forge team and help small- and mid-sized businesses grow and plan for their future,” Ryan said. “Both of my parents were small-business owners and I understand the challenges small businesses face and the passion that those owners have for their companies. Locally owned businesses truly are at the heart of communities, and I am excited to join Forge in helping them not only survive but thrive.”
